Leadership Council, Ecosystem Coordination Board will meet May 29-30 in Puyallup

The Puget Sound Partnership’s Leadership Council and Ecosystem Coordination Board are meeting concurrently Thursday, May 29, and Friday, May 30, in the Allmendinger Room at the Washington State University Research Center, 2606 W. Pioneer, Puyallup.

The Ecosystem Coordination Board will meet from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Thursday, May 29. Agenda highlights include recommendations for tax incentive programs to reduce shoreline armoring and a review of the 2014 Puget Sound Action Agenda.

The Ecosystem Coordination Board and Leadership Council will meet as a combined group from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 29, to discuss the 2015 legislative session and science activities that support ecosystem recovery.

The Leadership Council will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 30. Meeting highlights include a discussion on funding gaps for ecosystem monitoring, recommendations from tribal representatives regarding National Marine Fisheries Service riparian management guidelines, review of Floodplains by Design project proposals, and approval of the 2014 Action Agenda.

These meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to address questions or comments about the regional effort to restore and protect Puget Sound.
